Colorado Digital Labs, Inc. provides products that are useful for product development purposes. The following illustrates those which are currently available. We will be expanding this offering in an ongoing basis. These products are fully customizable and represent IP assets that we can draw upon when creating new product designs. Everything shown below can be mixed and matched to create an enormous range of configurations tailored to our customers requirements. Once the hardware design is stable, the circuits are repackaged to suit the customers product requirements.
This page contains information on the following:
- PCS-180 Single Board Computer (SBC)
- PCS-1820 LCD Terminal Module
- PCS-186 Digital video CODEC
- RPCS-183 PCMCIA Port
In addition, CDL can provide experience in renewable energy system design utilizing Solar Photo Voltaic (SPV) and wind turbine power. This allows CDL to provide an independent energy infrastructure for your remote or mission critical project. Super reliable, efficient and uninterruptable energy systems allow your systems to operate anywhere.
PCS-181
The CDL PCS-181 Single Board Computer (SBC) was created to provide a royalty free rapid prototyping platform for our customers needing an embedded system for fast product development.
Designed to provide maximum prototyping flexibility, the PCS-181 offers a rich set of digital and analog I/O resources for embedded applications. The version shown incorporates a Zilog 80180 Microprocessor and the design can be easily adapted for most popular 8 or 16 bit microprocessors.
Once the prototype is configured with the required resources, and the required hardware components have stabilized, a new printed circuit layout can be created using your mass production component packages. This can occur while simultaneous code development proceeds using the existing prototypes.
When you need a product in days, this can help get you there.

PCS-1820
The CDL PCS-1820 terminal module is intended to provide a basic console for applications running on the PCS-180. The terminal has a 16 character by 2 line, backlit display and an 24 key matrix keypad. The unit also provides a audio transducer for audible feedback. The backlight is under software control and the LCD contrast can be adjusted. A standard 25 pin D-Sub connector is provided. Pricing in single quantities is $115.00.
PCS-186
The CDL PCS-186 is a baseband NTSC / PAL - CCIR-601 Digital video CODEC. It is primarily used for capturing NTSC / PAL video camera images (frame grabber) and generating video pages to be displayed on inexpensive color video monitors. Applications include broadcast video test instrumentation, security and user interfaces for instruments, kiosk's and ATM machines. The PCS-186 interfaces directly with the PCS-181 SBC. Pricing in single quantities is $265.00.
RPCS-183
The CDL RPCS-183 provides a generic PCMCIA port for mass storage and other peripherals. The PCMCIA socket interface is fully buffered. The RPCS-183 also provides a dual, full handshake 16550 type UART for high speed data communications. The RPCS-183 interfaces directly with the PCS-181 SBC. Pricing in single quantities is $95.00.
